Safe-Sea is a super premium blend of green lipped mussels and ahiflower oil that's sustainable, pure and never heat processed. It's more complete than fish oil and more sustainable.

  • Supports healthy joints: Green-lipped mussels contain a unique Omega-3 fatty acid not found in fish oil called ETA. This omega-3 fat is known for its ability to support a balanced inflammatory response, which is especially beneficial for dogs with joint issues.
  • Broader range of fatty acids: While fish oil primarily offers EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), green-lipped mussels provide over 30 fatty acids, plus the aniflower is one of the best sources of GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and SDA (stearidonic acid) to support healthy skin and immune function.
  • Better bioavailability: Unlike fish oil, the omega fats in green lipped mussel oil are encapsulated in phospholipids.  Green lipped mussel oil: Green lipped mussel oil, derived from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus), stands out among marine oils for its unique composition of omega-3 fatty acids, including a rare form known as eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA). This particular omega-3 is highly effective at balancing the inflammatory response, potentially offering more benefits than those found in other marine oils like fish oil, which primarily contain EPA and DHA.

Additionally, green lipped mussel oil contains a variety of other lipids and compounds that contribute to its health benefits, including phospholipids, which are better absorbed by the body, and glycosaminoglycans, which support joint health.

The phospholipids in green-lipped mussel oil improve the bioavailability of omega-3 fatty acids, meaning the body can absorb and utilize these beneficial nutrients more efficiently. Phospholipids form a major component of cell membranes and can easily merge with cells, facilitating the efficient absorption of omega-3s into the body. Phospholipids also encapsulate fragile omega-3 fatty acids, protecting them from degradation in the digestive system. Ahiflower oil boasts large levels of stearidonic acid (SDA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), two fatty acids with notable health benefits. SDA, an omega-3 fatty acid, is efficiently converted by dogs into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), supporting a normal inflammatory response, cardiovascular health and potentially enhancing brain function. GLA, a healthy omega-6 fatty acid, also plays a crucial role in promoting a healthy inflammatory response and is particularly beneficial for skin health. The unique combination of SDA and GLA in ahiflower oil makes it a powerful nutritional supplement.
